I recommend using Input Deck 3 & 4 for the DVS input for a more natural layout of the DDJ and turntables / CDJs with regards to the mixer. Scroll down to configure the Input Channels. Click the DVS icon in the preferences window and check the box beside Enable DVS Function.Ĭlick the Audio icon and select the newly created RZ+Soundflower aggregate as your Audio device. Open rekordbox, and open the Preferences. In the right window, check the box beside DDJ-RZ, then check the box beside Soundflower (2ch). It CAN NOT contain the word "DDJ-RZ" or rekordbox will recognize it as that device and the additional outputs will NOT be available. With your DDJ connected and powered-on, open Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup - if the Audio Devices window is not visible, click Window > Show Audio Devices.Ĭlick the + icon at the bottom left and select Create Aggregate Device.Ĭlick on the name Aggregate Device and rename it RZ+Soundflower. Step 4 - Create an Aggregate Audio Device On the Controller Output tab, set the outputs for USB 5/6 and USB 7/8 to match the type of control tone you will be using ( PHONO or LINE). Open the DDJ-RZ Setting Utility. On the Mixer Mode tab, set the Mixer Mode to Internal Mixer Mode. You can also use other similar applications such as Sound Siphon or Loopback, but those are both paid apps and Soundflower works, and is free, so why not? There is just one extra tool necessary for us Mac users: If you are using a DDJ-RZ without DVS, the instructions are slightly different please see the this guide.Įnsure that you are running the latest version of rekordbox, that your drivers and firmware are up-to-date, and that your broadcast software is current as well. Please check the DDJ section of the Knowledge Base for additional tutorials. The instructions provided herein are based around a DDJ-RZ, and may be different for other DDJ units. Last login: Sun Dec 4 10:07:59 on consoleģ3-82-114-61:~ mihail$ sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/Soundflower.This guide is a how-to for streaming using a 3rd party software such as OBS, and many of these instructions may also be applied to other software. type in: sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext So *after* following Neil Clayton instructions above, if you're still seeing Sunflower in System Preferences / Sound, Output tab, try executing the above command on it own: You can see the extra line compared to the Uninstaller for Soundflower 1.6.6b: The Uninstall scrip is:ĭo shell script "sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext" with administrator privilegesĭo shell script "sudo rm -rf /Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext" with administrator privilegesĭo shell script "sudo rm -rf /Library/Receipts/Soundflower*" with administrator privilegesĭo shell script "sudo rm -rf /var/db/receipts/.*" with administrator privilegesĭo shell script "sudo rm -rf /Applications/Soundflower" with administrator privileges I've found it on GitHub, link, under the subhead Downloads - "". Scanning my hard drive I've found that I've used a different installer, "". The above procedure did not work for me, I could still see Soundflower in System Preferences / Sound, Output tab. If you don't know what this means, get a tech-savvy friend to do it for you. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." In this case you will need to disable System Integrity Protection and remove /System/Library/Extensions/Soundflower.kext (and then re-enable System Integrity Protection). If you previously installed Soundflower on an older version of OS X you may encounter a message saying " The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Access it from another machine, delete the offending kext.Start the offending machine in Target Disk Mode ( ). Here's another idea from Keith, if you've a couple of macs: You may not be able to 'rm' the kext from terminal.
